Why did you choose to major in Business?

Recently, I found the perfect phrase for me - "jack of all trades, master of none". I have always liked several things and have gained quite a few skills from them, however, I have never found myself as someone who sticks to one thing therefore limiting me to master of one specific skill. And I figured that with business, I can use the few skills I've gained and make an overarching job for myself. I like that business is broad but can be specific based on the individual.

Three Facts about me:

  • I recently received my Group Fitness Instructor certification and I'm currently teaching one of my favorite GFI classes (Knockout - boxing).
  • My birthday is on Christmas Day. I have never thought that it was interesting until I moved here in the U.S. and everyone found it really interesting.
  • My first time "hiking", I slipped twice and therefore now traumatized with any hikes.

What would you say to someone who wanted to get involved with WIB but did not know where to start?

Start attending coffee hours! It only lasts an hour, yet in the span of 60 minutes, you'll learn so many things (especially soft skills) by the end of it. If they are worried about a time commitment, it doesn't take much of their time but they should know that every minute is valuable and something they can surely learn something from. Although I did not know any of the other events by WIB except coffee hours, once I went to one coffee hour - I was able to get a gauge of the different events WIB offers.
